While looking for a witness to an ancestor's wedding I found her at her address as given which turned out to be the "Calside Gaelic Manse". You did not give a year for Mary Ann McNeil's Marriage to James Hutchison (book binder). So this information may or may not be helpful......but........ In the 1881 Census via IGI (FHL film 0203583 : GRO ref Volume 573 :Enum Dist 67 :Page 14) you will find the following Maggie McNeil:Head :occ Housekeeper:35 Unmarried b. I have been very interested in the above Mary McIntosh for she is the only long term friend to my g/mother who was married in Paisley in 1907. It seems they had been friends for 'years' having met in service somewhere. My Grandmother was/is in herself a great mystery to me...and very much MY brick wall for 20 odd years. I shall now check the rest of that 1881 Census re: Andrew McIntosh and write back directly to you if suitable? Possibly Mary Anne was called Maggie..who knows?? Perhaps the mystery of the McNeils, the Gaelic Manse & and the McIntoshes is all somehow intertwined??? I wonder???? Contact me directly if you wish. Moira in Scotland (Moirac40@aol.com)

I have written to nas.gov.uk. but in the meantime I thought I would ask the list if anyone has any information on this Church - St. Columba's (formerly Gaelic Chapel) There are 3 more names on the page and would willingly pass along the information. Hill & Craig (Primitive Methodist Society, Paisley) McCann & Kilday Burnet & Manson (Parish of Kilbarchan) Any assistance would grealy be appreciated. Regards Wilma - Canada
