    2. David Rorer
    3. 1421 was extensively discussed in the internet newsgroups on archaeology and medieval history. The consensus was that the book is pure fantasy with no basis in fact. 1. Alexander Wallace wed to Janet Ritchie, Cluny, 1798
    2. Paul Francis
    3. Hello, In tracing back my roots, my maternal Grandmother Janet Wilson immigrated to US in 1891 with her mother, Mary Black Wilson . MAry was the daughter, of Lucy (Ann) Wallace Black, who married John Black, (of Guernsey), in the Parish of Barony, 03 Jul 1842. Ann Wallace was the daughter of Alex. Walace and Janet Ritchie, who wed 9th Dec, 1798 in Cluny. Any similarities ? I imagine Ann born Isobel (Ann) (Lucy) 25th Feb, 1813 b. Parish of Cluny, had older and younger siblings. I trace the earlier marriage of Alex. Wallace to Janet Ritchie in Cluny on 9th Dec, 1798 Regards and thank You, Paul Francis, USA

    3. Hello, My GG Aunt Ann AITKEN married David Loremer MOUNSEY on the 11th Dec 1866 in Inverkip, Renfrew - just before they went to Liverpool to board the Hahnemann to travel to Australia. Now I would like to have a little more information about David. (ie birth date and parents. Maybe 1851/1861 census for occupation etc) I have tried the on line IGI, and vital records with no luck. Does anybody have easy access to the OPR's? Does he belong in anybodies "tree"? Thank you Pat

    1. Mother's name missing from OPR document
    2. Kate Israel-Manwell
    3. Hi Dianne, The record being from 1818 it is not so much a birth certificate as as a christening record. Long shot - I was told that a minister would sometimes note the names down on a piece of paper and the clerk would transfer the information to the register later: maybe only the father's name was noted (or he could not read his own handwriting!) Another way to find your rellie's mother's name would be on a Scottish death cert 1855 or later (or marriage cert after 1855 if he married late) Kate >X-Message: #2 >Date: Wed, 26 Apr 2006 14:23:43 EDT >From: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Message-ID: <[email protected]> >Subject: OPR Birth Cert - No mother named >Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" > >I have received the birth certificate for my ancestor Andrew (Greenock Old >or West) 1818 but there is no mother's name (unlike everyone else on the >page). 1. OPR Birth Cert - No mother named
    2. I have received the birth certificate for my ancestor Andrew (Greenock Old or West) 1818 but there is no mother's name (unlike everyone else on the page). Why would this be? The father is William McIntyre and, because of naming patterns, I believe that the mother is Marion. I have found a marriage for William and Marion in 1803. I have also found other children on IGI of William and Marion and William and Manie from 1804 to 1816. So next question, if this is the same family, why would Marion be shown on the others, but not on Andrew's. Final question, do you experts think that 'Manie' is Marion? Any advice appreciated. Regards Dianne
