Samuel James McDowall and Agnes McKean had the following issue: Ann b 1823 Kirkmabreck Janet b 1828 Kirkmabreck James b 1831 Kirkmabreck (he married Agnes McCulloch Lightbody 1854) Isabella b 1834 Kirkmabreck John b 1835 Kirkmabreck Agnes b 1837 Kirkmabreck Alexander b 1843 Kirkmabreck We have the located the family in the 1841 and 1851 census. By 1851 Samuel James McDowall was deceased. Living with the family was a grandson James Carlisle. In 1841 Samuel was not with the family and Agnes was then 35ish, and a pauper.
