Does anyone know of a cemetery at or near Dalbeattie called the "Dalbeattie Churchyard?" This cemetery is different from the Dalbeattie Cemetery at the end of Albert Street. I'm looking for the burial place of John Lowden Clachrie. His death is recorded in Dumfries (District No. 821; Entry No. 193) on 12th May, 1894 at 15 Wallace Street, Dumfries; John Clachrie aged 82 (Sailor) Widower of Jane Coates; son of: David Clachrie (Labourer) Deceased and Elizabeth Clachrie m.s. Donaldson. Cause: Paralysis - 8 days as certified by M. Ferguson MD; Informant: Mary Clachrie, daughter; Registered on 15 May 1894 at Dumfries. He is thought to be buried in the Dalbeattie Churchyard, but I could find no such place in Dalbeattie. Perhaps I didn't know where to look. We found his father, David, buried in the Colvend Parish Churchyard, but we didn't find John Lowden buried here. We found his son, John, buried in the Dalbeattie Cemetery at the end of Albert Street, but we didn't find John Lowden buried here. Could John Lowden be buried in the Dumfries Churchyard, and I misunderstood the person who gave me the information?
