Greetings to all Listers. I am seeking information/leads to sources on my GG Grand mother, Isabella Emily (McCULLOCH) DRIVER and her family in Scotland. She was born 14 OCT 1843, Kirkcudbright, Scotland, parents William McCULLOCH and Isabella STEWART. Isabella died 28 NOV 1882 in Shillong, India. She was married to Andrew Brown DRIVER, (who was born in Beverly, MA, USA), in Cherra Punjee, India. Andrew was engaged in conducting a tea plantation, and their 5 children were all born in India. I have no information on whether Isabella had any siblings, but do have some (limited) information on her parents as follows: William was the son of John Ramsey McCULLOCH and Isabella STEWART. He served in the 13th Native Infantry in India. He was a Political Agent in Manipur, Assam. He authored a book entitled, "Account of the Valley of Manipur and the Hill Tribes" pub. in Calcutta 1859. He died in Shillong 4 April 1885. He was the oldest son of Edward McCULLOCH, laird of Auchengool, and Sarah daughter of Rev Dr James LASING of Glasserton. I have no further data on William's family. I have tried to gain more info by subscribing to the INDIA-L on Rootsweb, but have had little success. If anyone has any connections, or any leads to suggest, please do contact me.
