Hi everyone, my great great grandfather was a James Garraway who emigrated to the US from Whitehaven England. The Garraways were in Whitehaven it looks at least by 1820. In looking at the records from across the border in Kirkcudbrightshire, it looks as if the Garraway family came from this county. Has anyone run across this name from this county??? The one record I have found is an Alexander Garraway married to Sarah MacCaddam on 24th Dec 1778 in Rerrick Parish. Thats it, I am fairly certain this is my Garraway, but have made no headway from this. Any help would be appreciated in how to pursue this line. Thanks, Barbara in Tennessee
For some reason I was not able to send to the list as such. So am responding on N Lyons request. Someone a week or so ago mentioned they had MI's for Kirkudbright, and am wondering if there could be a look up for a Robert Todd born 1793 Kelton, and his wife Jane McColm Todd born 1794 Rerrick, my gg grandparents. They were living in Castle Douglas on Gas Street in the 1861 census so it would be after that. I would appreciate a look up. Thank you.
