    3. Dear Listers Wonder if someone can help. I recently found an entry on Scots Origins for a John Adamson and Elizabeth Anderson marriage in which I am interested. This is for John born about 1825 and Elziabeth about 1826 both in Scotland according to their Rochdale entries in the 1851 census and married Kirkgunzeon 5/11/1949. I am trying to work out how this John Adamson fits in with my Rochdale Adamson family and thought the marriage details might help.. They don't. All I got was a copy of a church register hand written list which confirmed the names and marriage date which I knew and listed John as being from Rochdale (which further confuse me) and Elizabeth as coming from somewhere indecipherable. I've searched the 1881 census for all Kirkgunzeon entries and the only entries which could possibly match are Blairshinnoch or possibly Old Blairshinnock. These are close neighbours in the census to an Anderson family (which has an Elizabeth so it does look likely) but I do wish that the clergy in 1849 had had hindsight to use better handwriting ! (Before anyone takes offense that was not meant seriously - you should see my writing !). A. Does anyone have any details of Blairshinnoch. B. What date do full marriage details start in Scotland. Given that I have the date of marriage can I get a full marriage certificate. Regards Joy

    3. Hi Joy I can't help geographically, I'm afraid but this might explain something. ----- Original Message ----- From: "JOY SALT" <[email protected]> <snip> ... I've had some surprises with my Andersons, either marrying in Scotland but with a Liverpool address, or marrying in Liverpool when expected to have married in Wales (two lots). Good luck.
