    3. Dear Betty, For what it is worth, There are a number of Boyd and Henry Lairs/Graves shown in the Monumental Inscriptions Books for Kirkcudbrightshire in Volumes 4 and 5. The one nearest to a Samuel Henry is Lair 108 died Glenhead,Rerrick 9th Dec 1885 aged 73. however, his wife was Mary Clark 1820-1901. There was a Family of Boyd in Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, my cousin's in-laws. Their daughter married William Campbell. they emigrated to Hazenmore,Saskatchewan, Canada. Mary Boyd was born in Dryfesdale Lockerbie 10/8/1879 and died Hazenmore,1963. Two possible sources of research--apart from Registrars in kirkcudbright and Dumfries is to ask The D & G FHS Research Centre at 9,Glasgow Street,Dumfries,Scotland for a volunteer to check the OPRs/census for you or you can surf New Register House Scotland. http://www.origins.net Origins cost £6 for 24 hrs and Certificates cost about £10. From your known data and certificates you should be able to compile a tree plan (Even a very small one). If you care to let me have an e#mail with your compilation of what seems your tree I will try to advise further.
