In his 1984 book "SCOTLAND'S STORY", Tom Steel sez that changes in agricultural markets caused much emigration : "In 1850 alone, 10,000 left Carsethorn pier in Kirkcudbright for Canada". Have any lists been found/published for that time? My gr-granpa left Midlothian about 1850 and appears in the 1851 census of Canada near Stratford, Ontario. If you have some info about the emigration lists, I will appreciate a tip.
