Hello Listers, Could a kind soul please help me find the parents of David Cameron? Their names may be on his headstone in Creetown Cemetary or in the Parish Register or somewhere else. David Cameron was born in Glasgow, Lanarkshire in about 1801. He married Mary Brown of Kirkmabreck shortly before 1826, then set up shop as a Nail Manufacturer/Blacksmith in Silver Street, Creetown. He was still alive in 1881 and may be the David Cameron of Creetown whose death notice is posted in the Wigtown Free Press Index on 3 April 1890 page 4 column h. He would have been 89 years old. He lived at 6 Silver Street, Creetown in the 1851 Census. He'd moved to St. John Street, Creetown by the 1881 Census. Here David had living with him his eight year old grand-daughter, Mary Agnes Cameron, b. 1873 at Dumfries. His wife, Mary Cameron (Brown), died in Creetown on 24 May 1871. Their ten children were: 1.
