Hi Sybil: I have no knowledge of your Ramsey or C.L. Brown, however I do have a Peter Donabie BROWN born 1880 and a Agnes Brown born 1877 both in Glasgow. However oral history is that the Brown, Donabies and Houstons (all family names) came from Kirkcudbrightshire or Ayr. My Browns go back to William Brown born about 1805 who married Mary Houston? 1824 and had a son Hugh Brown born about 1829 who married Agnes Maitland from Irvine Ayrshire. They had a son Robert Livingstone Brown born 12 Dec. 1860 who married Annie Donabie and had three children, Agnes (Annie) 1877, Robert Livingstone born 1878 and Peter Donabie Brown born 1880. It is thought that Annie Donabie had a middle name of Agnes and that she was the daughter of Peter Henry Donabie and Annie Houston. Peter and Annie were married in Kirkpatrick Durham, Kirkcudbrightshire. Peter Henry was the son of Peter Donabie. I realize that this is stretching it a bit but the similar names and the Kirkcudbrightshire connection makes me wonder if there is a connection. How is spring in Australia?
