Hi Shelley A great-aunt of mine, Jessie Clark born 1862 in Paisley, married Sam Rae and had 3 daughters, Margaret, Agnes and Jenny. Any connection? Hi Sheena, I really don't know yet. James 1798 and John 1802 were here in Canada by 1825 in Georgina Twp, YORK, ONT. I've not been able to find the family in Scotland yet. I was told that James and John were son's of Adam RAE and Janet but I'm wondering if Adam was a messed up spelling of William...Wllam? etc. Why I say this, I found the only RAE's in Middle Paisley both had sons James and John, slightly diff. years but close enough and were sons of William Rae and Janet Robertson. See, even same mothers name. So I'm in a dilemma. I've not seen the original transcript of the marriage of John or James where on one of them, it said father was Adam. Sorry I'm not much help.
