I am searching for info on Mary KELLY. She had a son, William McKIE, out of wedlock, in November of 1833 in Kells. The father was Alexander McKie. They never married and I have no other info on either of them. I saw in the OPR that there was a Mary Kelly who married Robert HUGHAN on 7/22/1834 in Kirkmabreck. I am hoping this is my Mary Kelly, and for some unknown reason, perhaps the death of Alexander, she married someone else. There was an Alexander McKie born to John McKie and Margaret HUGHAN in Kirkmabreck in 1799. I am hoping this was not a coincidence and there was some relationship here between all these families. On William McKie's marriage cert. his father's occupation was listed as shepherd. Does anyone know if this means he was still alive at this time? Would the cert state deceased if one parent were dead? I would appreciate any help that anyone could provide. Thank you, Diane
