    3. Because Winifred is not a common name for KKD, and noting the GORDON in Thomas Gordon WALKER's entry, I am wondering whether Gloria's Christopher JOHNSTONE and Winifred Maxwell GRAINGER might be connected to two brothers who appear on my tree. Thomas GORDON born 1809 and James GORDON born 1810 in Tongland, were sons of William GORDON and Jane SPROAT. Thomas, who died 14 July 1861, married Mary JOHNSTONE (1811-1851) and had Jane GORDON b.c. 1838, died 15 August 1860 at Douganhill, Buittle, and William GORDON, b.c. 1844 in England, and died 31 March 1917 at Palnackie, Buittle. William married Margaret L. WILSON. Thomas and Mary are buried at Buittle and all this information was gleaned from the M.I. there. James married ? and had these children: Christopher GORDON b.c. 1839 in England Winifred GORDON b.c. 1841 in England Sibella GORDON b.c. 1843 in England William GORDON b.c. 1845 in England In the 1861 census at Douganhill, Parish of Buittle, I found: James GORDON/51/farmer 500 acres/widower/born Tongland Christopher GORDON/22/son/England Winifred GORDON/20/daughter/born England Sibella GORDON/18/daughter/born England William GORDON/16/son/born England + others, including two WILSON nephews, both born London. Surely there must be a connection to Gloria's lot here somewhere. Can anyone help? Cheers, Jill
