We have no record of their marriage,but in the parish register of 1760"l8l9 of Kirkguzion parish,county kirkcudbright the following baptisms are recorded; 13 March 1770 George Aitken,lawful son to William Aitken,a weaver,and a Jannet Clark.in Cowans.George Aitken remained unmarried and died in l824 at age 52 (no other info on him) 30 March 1772 Jean Aitken,lawful daughter to William Aitken,a weaver,and a Jannet Clark ,in Breconside.Jean Aitken must have lived nearby. 20 March 1775 Robert Aitken,lawful son to William Aitken,a weaver,and a Jannet Clark ,in Breconside. 1 Sept.1777 Jannet Aitken,lawful daughter to William Aitken,a weaver,and a Jannet Clark ,in Breconside.Jannet Aitken, ,married our Robert Mcleod.(my ancestors),3rd January,1799,they had eight children between 1799-1815 when they came to nova scotia.the baptism,on Sept.2,1768,James Maxwell,natural son of Thomas Maxwell and Mary Holiday. marriage proclamation,of 29th April,1775 that William Clouden and Mary Holiday were married at Old Clouden farm.
