Hi Jeanette, I don't know whether this will help you in your quest but I have a Jane McCutcheon born approx 1811 that married my gggrandfather John McIlwraith (Born Ardmillan Ayrshire 1703). They lived most of their adult life in the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright both dying in Gatehouse of Fleet. Their first offspring Elizabeth was born in Minnigaff, married an Alexander Burnie both of whom died in Dalbeattie (Glenshalloch?). If you feel there may be a connection here I can provide details of the remaining offspring. tom ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeanette de Montalk" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, September 13, 2002 12:00 AM Subject: Re: 1841 Lookup: McCutcheon Family > Dear Bethany, > > The 1841 census for Kirkcudbright is available from the Stewartry Museum, if > you don't get any takers for your lookup request.
