Hallo All After a long battle I have, with the help of a number of people on the Kirkcudbright and D & G list, managed to find a link to my ancestors in Scotland. I have found details of Robert Scott and Elizabeth McJore (later Mc George) and the birth on 29 Aug 1812 of their first child Isabella in Ruthwell. The next 5 children were all born and christened in Urr, Kirkcudbright. The sons' details are as follows: Andrew 27 Oct 1814 Robert 8 Apr 1817 Thomas 20 Feb 1820 Samuel 5 Feb 1829 William 19 Apr 1832 One of the five sons had a son Samuel who was born about 1842 - he emigrated to South Africa and married my Great Grandmother in 1879. I have not been able to find any details of the six children or their marraiges or details of their children in Scots Origins or the OPR's for Kircudbright or Dumfries . Is there anybody on the list who has any of the above persons in their Scott or McGeorge lines or anybody who knows of a person with interest in the SCOTT or McGEORGE families in Ruthwell or Dalbeattie/Urr? I would appreciate any information or assistance in this connection.
