I am trying to obtain information about John Shannon and his wife Martha McLure, both born in Ireland (Londonderry?) who came to Scotland in the early 1800s with their family. Unable to find any information with the exception for their son Hugh Shannon and his wife Margaret Hamilton married in Glasgow on 12 October 1838 who are my ancestors. Hugh and his wife settled in Hawick, Roxburghshire.
