Hello new to the list and looking for McClelland. Know that my great grandfather was John McClelland born 16.5.1871, father Alexander McClelland. Can anyone search the 1881 census or point me in the right direction to try and find him?? I would be very grateful for any information or help as I am a bit new to this. Thank you very much. Dear Alison, I have an Elizabeth Gordon married George McLellan in the Parish of Tongland on 18 November 1823 and amongst other children, they had Alexander, born at Blackcraig 22 February 1832. Blackcraig is the name of a farm and it is in Borgue parish where most of my Gordons came from. Could this Alexander be the father of your John? I have a feeling there are other McLellands on my tree so I'll do some checking and see what I can find.
