    3. Hello........... I am researching a William SMITH who left Colvend in 1774 at the age of 24 to settle on Prince Edward Island. He ended up in Pictou Nova Scotia where he owned and operated a mill on the West River. On this journey were several members of the WILSON family also from Colvend. They were Mary Wilson (age 50), William Wilson (age 23), John Wilson (age 21) and James Wilson (4months). I believe that these Wilsons and William Smith are relatives as the name Wilson turns up several times in William's grandchildren. Also in searching the batches from LDS for the parish of Colvend, I found a marriage record for an Anthony SMITH and a Marion WILSON from 1748. I am leaning toward the possibility that this might be William Smith's parents (following the Scotch pattern of naming where the first grandson is named for the paternal grandfather - William's eldest son was named Anthony). Is there anyone else researching a Smith or a Wilson family from the Colvend area? If so, would you be willing to share your information? Thank you, Meg Mulvey Berkley Massachusetts, U.S.A. ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
