Jill! You seem to have the Kirkcudbright Mis. You should look in Volume 4 No 20 in the Lairs for Kirkpatrick Durham and 18 for Kirkcudbright. There are many lairs containing GORDON. Indeed, in the 1600s and 1800s they were much connected with McCartney of McCartney (NOW Walton Park) My early ancestral line were McCartney of McCartney but GORDON used to own it at one time: Gordon was not connected to the McCartney, only the Mansion.
