Hello James, Jill & I are working together on GORDON and I have found that Alexander GORDON who was a Bookseller married Margaret McCARTNEY in 1796..... one of their children was a Robert McCartney GORDON born 1st Dec 1809 and he married (i) Catherine IRELAND on 24 Dec 1839 but she died on 21 April 1845 and Robert then married Helen McMASTER 12 March 1848.
