    1. Re: McLeod - alias and Ingleston
    2. Darryl, As far as I know Ingleston is a farm approximately 1.25 miles due west of Borgue village on the coastal road and Kirkanders churchyard will refer to Kirkandrews churchyard which is located a half mile further westwards. tom ----- Original Message ----- From: Darryl <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2002 11:06 PM Subject: McLeod - alias and Ingleston > I obtained the following information from the OPR. 1. Mary Kelly & Alexander McKie
    2. I am searching for info on Mary KELLY. She had a son, William McKIE, out of wedlock, in November of 1833 in Kells. The father was Alexander McKie. They never married and I have no other info on either of them. I saw in the OPR that there was a Mary Kelly who married Robert HUGHAN on 7/22/1834 in Kirkmabreck. I am hoping this is my Mary Kelly, and for some unknown reason, perhaps the death of Alexander, she married someone else. There was an Alexander McKie born to John McKie and Margaret HUGHAN in Kirkmabreck in 1799. I am hoping this was not a coincidence and there was some relationship here between all these families. On William McKie's marriage cert. his father's occupation was listed as shepherd. Does anyone know if this means he was still alive at this time? Would the cert state deceased if one parent were dead? I would appreciate any help that anyone could provide. Thank you, Diane

    1. Young/Robb
    2. Dear Listers, Iam currently researching my family tree and have started with my children. Sadly we are estranged from their mothers, my wifes, family. Which makes starting the job very very difficult, fortunately my wife has been able to give me some pointers which may help. Does any of the following details ring a bell with anyone: ROBB, triplets from Elrig (that is how is pronouced at least) one of whom had a daughter called Antonia Agnes who was named after a sister of the triplets. Also, YOUNG, William James Bryden (B.c 1900 - 10) who married Sarah ?. Together they had a large family (aprox 17) after which they Divorced. Sarah's father had a farm on the Isle of Whithorn. If anyone has information regarding this family please contact me directly, rather than through the list inorder to protect the living. I am obviously interested in key dates such as births, deaths, marrages, details of parents, siblings and children of those mentioned above. Regards and many thanks in advance. 3. Sammy I don't have your Agnes but I have copied in some MI details below which may be useful. ALL You probably think I have been neglecting you as I have not replied to anyone, done any look ups since before Christmas. Many apologies but been having a bit of a bad time these last couple of weeks.. 1. Foul cold 2. I lost my 14 year old beautiful golden retriever Tinka today (I lost his twin brother Tayla 2 years ago - yes thats right if I'd had 2 more they would have been Soldia and Sayla !!). He's been on borrowed time for the past few months after suffering several epileptic type fits but had a really bad one over Christmas - (followed by lots of cuddles from me). Today he had another far worse one which left him in distress so it was time to call the vet to do what vets do. I am feeling very very sad. 3. My electricity supply has had a fault on the circuit which includes this PC and since Christmas has been tripping everything off (including the heating). Tonight the electrician found a totally live exposed wire up in our loft buried in the fibre glass - which was looking somewhat burned round the edges ! The wire has been there, live, for the 12 years since our house was built. Electrician having a bad day I think. Wire now safely sealed off and hopefully I can now get back to normal again - though I no longer have my lovely dog sitting at my feet. I think I will have to adopt the electricians cat. 3. Hi Listers I have hit a brickwall and was wondering if anyone can help. I have Helen WILLIAMSON, b abt 1852 in Crossmichael to John WILLIAMSON and Helen WALLACE. When she married in Wigtownshire in 1875, her mother, Helen Wallace, was noted as deceased. So far I have had no luck finding a birth/christening for Helen Williamson, nothing on a marriage of John Williamson and Helen Wallace, and cannot find the death for Helen Wallace/Williamson. Is there anyone out there who is researching this very elusive family? Regards Marion in hot and steamy Qld.

    1. A Happy New Year
    2. JOY SALT
    3. Dear All Just want to wish everyone a very happy new year and to say thank you all for the help I have received from the 4 lists I subscribe to - Lancs, Cumberland, Dumfries and Kirkcudbright. With your help I have, this Christmas, been able to present my very elderly uncle with his own 'Family Book' in which I have included multiple generations of details for multiple of his ancestral lines. Should keep him busy all year (and he was absolutely astonished and delighted) ! Also for everyone who is awaiting a response from me - I havent forgotten and I will get back to you ASAP. I decided I needed a full "PC break" over the holidays (arthritic neck is aggravated by using the mouse + neglcected husband + I use a PC All day at work) so have done absolutely nothing with my genealogy for the last 12 days except tidy my desk, prepare my uncle's book and collect back from my Aunt the family photos I left with her to identify which I will shortly add to my website - I have a couple that I really want to share as they are such super picures. This one is so pretty my daughter has taken a copy to frame (a first cousin to my father) : http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~joybobsalt/159.HTM http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~joybobsalt/Phylis%20Noble.jpg ?? I am currently putting photos onto my website via a hyperlink for each photo. There must be a better way - how can I get for example a photo directly onto a website page together with text ? Regards and a very very happy new year to all of you Joy
