Cookney is described in 'Gazetter of Scotland' as a 'church of ease' with 700 seatings. It is in the Parish of Fetteresso. Can anyone advise if Cookney would have it's own Parish Register of Births/Christenings etc - or would they be in Fetteresso. Where might the Parish Registers be held? Searching for family of George BROWN and Margaret GORDON who appear to have moved down from the Braemar area, and later to Banff. A couple of grandchildren born in NZ have the father's (A;lexander Brown) birthplace given as Cookney,Kincardinshire Any help would be appreciated. Ken Woodgate [email protected]
