Hi Ruth: I have no relationship to this family. However, I can pass on something that happened on my research. As you know death cert. info is only as good as it's informant. Which can be a relative who never knew the grandparents or a son in law who is reporting hearsay. In my research I obtained the death certificates for two brothers, one gave the mother's name as Agnes Mcrobert and the other said Agnes Crawford. My first thought was that the father married twice. After searching it turned that Agnes Mcrobert was the mother and that Agnes Crawford was the grandmother of the deceased. One of the informant got his grandmother and great grand mother names' confused. Something to keep in mind. >----- Forwarded Message ----- >From: "Ruth Edwards" <bredwards@datafast.net.au> >To: SCT-KINCARDINE-L <SCT-KINCARDINE-L@rootsweb.com> >Subject: James Beattie > >Hello Listers, >would anyone have a James Beattie and an Isobel Ritchie in their tree. >On my G G Grandmother's death certificate, in 1870 in Benholm it states >_Julia Strachan age 59 m/s Beattie, Father James Beattie, mother Isobel >Ritchie, both dec. >On the 1851 and 1861 census she is listed as having been born in Dun , >Forfar. >I can find no record of this couple, Julia and her husband David Strachan >did not have an Isobel, but did have a James, some of their children also >had a James and a James Beattie. >If anyone has any ideas on this , I would be delighted to hear from them. >Thanks >Ruth Edwards ****************************** Subscription-free Internet: Connect to: 0845 608 1304 ID: scot - Password: free It's that easy!
