Hi folks I have returned to researching my Emslie lines in Strachan just in case something new springs to mind. WILLIAM EMSLIE married JANET FERRIES 1 December 1805 Strachan and had the following children: Alexander 2 Feb 1807 Robert 22 Mar 1811 James and Janet 1813 I have no knowledge of where William came from but his spouse Janet was from the Parish of Birse. His son, ALEXANDER EMSLIE married his cousin HELEN FERRIES in 1852. This is my line. The other predominant Emslie family in Strachan is WILLIAM EMSLIE (parents JAMES EMSLIE and HELEN GRANT). William married MARGARET NICOL born 1803 Birse - parents DONALD NICOL and MARGARET DAVIDSON. Living nearby the above family is CHRISTIAN McPHERSON (nee Nicol) and presumably the sister of MARGARET NICOL - again born Birse. One other EMSLIE family I cannot connect is that of PETER EMSLIE married to ELSPET GOVE. Are any of these names familiar to anyone? I would love to hear from you.
