I wish it were as simple as that. Like Carl, my gggrandfather John Burnett was born in "Fettercairn" ca 1795 and buried in Fordoun. His death date was certified and his death certificate indicated that John Burnett's "parents were unknown". Information supplied at time of death by my ggrandfather William who was John's eldest son. This information (or lack of) has been supported by two separate genealogical sources in Scotland.
