Hi everyone, I'm new to the list, and have joined in the hope that someone might know something about one of the families I'm researching. I have KINLOCH family appearing in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Dundee, and now I think they may be in Kincardine. I'm in the process of trying to establish if an Alexander John KINLOCH b1818 in St Nicholas, Aberdeen, d1879 in Drumoak, Aberdeen is one of my relatives. Alexander married Margaret Morison HUTCHEON b1823 in Fetteresso, Kincardine in Drumoak, Aberdeen 1841. He was a MD and graduated from Edinburgh University. He was said to be a landed proprietor and a farmer of 120 acres, in the 1851 census of Aberdeen. Following Alexander's death, Margaret and her family were found in the 1881 census at The House of Altries in Maryculter, Kincardine. She was described as a "Landed Proprietors Widow Annuitant". I have a few more details about her children and the many servants they had, if I can share them with anyone else, I'd be happy too. I'd love to know if anyone has come across this family, or has any information regarding the House of Altries. I'm relatively new to genealogy in this area and also as a whole, so would love to hear from any of you! Thanks for taking the time to read this, Joanne Researching: MILNE, KINLOCH, SMITH, ANGUS-Aberdeen KINLOCH,WATSON,SMITH-Glasgow KINLOCH-Dundee & Kincardine?
