Hello List: I'm new to this list and thought I'd post my interests in the hopes that maybe someone else is researching the same lines. My McHardy line goes back to James McHardy married Janet Cattanach 1/12/1775 at Crathie and Braemar. They had 6 children: Ann, John, William, Robert, Charles and an infant that died at birth. Their son William married Agnes Farquhar(son) 5/20/1813 at Brechin, Angus. Their son James married Margaret Donaldson on 2/27/1842 at Laurencekirk, Kincardine. Their oldest daughter was Elizabeth born 7/05/1843 at Garvock. Elizabeth married Donald Sinclair (born 5/5/1843 in Laurencekirk), son of Alexander Sinclair and Margaret McLeay (this name is sometimes misspelled McLae, McLea, MacLaey and McLacy. Alexander Sinclair and Margaret McLeay had 5 children: Angus b 1841, Donald, William Japp Sinclair born 3/26/1846, Ann born 10/7/1849 and Alexander Fraser Sinclair born 10/23/1853. If anyone has information on Alexander Sinclair or Margaret McLeay's parents, I'd love to hear from you.
