Hi, I am new to the mailing list and unsure if I'm doing it right. Willaim Fincher married Barbara Garden at Nigg, Kincardine on 8th April, 1826. William Fincher was born in England so I have no idea what he was doing in Nigg at that time (apart from getting married). They had nine children all born in Newhills and Old Machar, Aberdeenshire. 1. Christina Fraser Fincher 2. Helen Hill Fincher 3. William Fincher 4. James Allan Fincher 5. Barbara Fincher 6. John Cumming Fincher 7. Robert Forbes Fincher 8. Jane Cumming Fincher 9. Grace Poole Fincher With all those middle names it looks like it should be so easy but I am having a lot of trouble sorting my Garden family out. I think Helen Hill was Barbara Garden's mother. But otherwise I'm at a loss. Any information apppreciated on the Garden family or the English in Scotland around this time greatly appreciated.
