Francis BOYNE Sex: M Event(s): Christening: 16 Mar 1802 Fintray, Aberdeen, Scotland Hi: I have no connection to this family but was looking at it anyway. The age for Francis Boyne on the 1881 is quite accurate according to the IGI. I would assume that Ann's age is fairly close also. Since they are both there, we have to think that one of these two senior people were the informants on the census. I couldn't find any sibs except John as you mentioned trying all the "usual suspects" such as George, Jean, James, Janet, Agnes, Alexander, Isobel, Elizabeth, William etc. Ann's age or anyone's age is only as good as the informant on a death cert. Although William, their son, is one of the oldest of their family he may not have had a good grip on their ages. Lastly if she was born about 1801 that would not too out of line, lots of women had families well into the 25th child bearing years. cheers Ron Parents: Father: John BOYNE Mother: Anne DUNCAN welling: Upper Mains Census Place: Fintray, Aberdeen, Scotland Source: FHL Film 0203455 GRO Ref Volume 193 EnumDist 4 Page 5 Marr Age Sex Birthplace Francis BOYNE M 79 M Fintray, Aberdeen, Scotland Rel: Head Occ: Farmer Of 27 Acres Arable Ann BOYNE M 80 F Fetteresso, Kincardine, Scotland Rel: Wife Occ: Farmers Wife Barbara BOYNE U 40 F Fintray, Aberdeen, Scotland Rel: Daur Occ: Servant Domestic >Last year I was sent this from the ANESFHS: >Fintray/1884/3 >Ann BOYNE married to Francis BOYNE died 20/2/1884 at Upper Mains of >Disblair, Fintray aged 90 years; >father Alexander LAWSON labourer deceased, mother Elspet nee BRIDGEFORD >deceased; >cause of death injury and general weakness >informant son William Boyne > >I have checked and found a marriage for Alexander LAWSON and Elspet >BRIDGEFORD at Dunottar on 9 Dec 1775. Dear Ron, Thanks for spending the time to do the lookups for me. Francis BOYNE's parents seem to be pretty clear but Ann LAWSON's are not - I am finding quite a few "brick walls" in Aberdeenshire and Kincardineshire between 1780 and 1800.
