Is anyone else interested in this family at Fordoun? James Christie, merchant, married Elizabeth Kinloch of Kair (Fordoun) in 1740, and the Fordoun OPR suggests they had several children - Marjory (1742), John (1743), James (1745), Margaret (1746), and Elizabeth (1749). Dear Robin I have a Margaret Christy birth date unknown , death 1807. She married a John Murray in 1734. They had the following children: James- b:?, d:1806 m:1795 to a Jean Moffert ( have more of this family) Elizabeth- b;? d: 1806 m; Robert Reid. Ann- d;1803 Margaret-; John-; married Williamena Hood in 1792 David- Catherine-;married John Fairweather in 1792 William-b;1736 d; 1818 m;1763 to Isobel Crabb. It also says that John had a second spouse named Elizabeth Christy! I cannot say where they were born but that the grandchildren were born at Westmondynes, Fordoun, Kincardinshire. This looks to me though it could be a connection.
