Dear Katy, As your ancestor was a Minister it may be worth consulting the Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae (a series of books on Ministers since the Reformation). These books can include the information you are looking for on family members plus details on the minister's career. The editors were Hew Scott and the Rev WS Crockett. You should be available through your local library or archive service. Hope this helps. I'm looking for James Mitchell, born approx 1677/8 who became Minister of Dunnottar (sp?) in 1710 and died in June 1734. I believe his parents were James Mitchell and Elizabeth Somerville. I am particularly interested in his marriage and children, or any leads to any information about him! TIA Katy Southampton, UK
