Hi Carolyn, I've been following your messages over the last few days with interest - in only that most of my ancestors came from Kincardinshire but as of yet, I have no Thomsons. I do have a Watt - pre-1800, I believe. I have the LDS microfiche for Kincardine. To date I've not found any information that is not on IGI online but it is a different format. I've looked at your family tonight and what I have found totally agrees with your data. Elizabeth Thompson......... none born in all of Kincardine between 1829 and 1836 - and then none to Robert.. James Thomson ...... born 04 Mar 1836 @ Laurencekirk married 1857 to Helen Watt Jean Jack Thomson.... born 05 February 1832 @ Laurencekirk Robert Thomson....... M. Mary Clerk/Clark 27 Oct 1827 Laurencekirk Also a marriage to a Helen Collie in Dec 1841 @ Kinneff & Catterline and another to Jane Middleton 27 Oct 1849 @ Laurencekirk. Banns were also posted @ Arbuthnott. Like you, I found no births for Mary or Margaret Thomson.
