He was the son of Robert Thomson and Mary Clark. James married Helen Watt in 1857 in Laurencekirk and had various children. William in 1859 in Fettercairn and George in 1868 in Garvock. I have the 1851 census in of Laurencekirk but I can not find James Thomson or his family Robert Thomson or Mary Clark. Yes I agree the parents may have been dead by then, but if anyone has any ideas, could they please let me know. I have found Helen Watt and her family in Fettercairn. I look forward to hearing for SKS.
