I too have Margaret Coutts (Daughter of David Coutts amd Margaret Duncan) and David Duncan(son of David Duncan and Elizabeth Stewart/Stuart) Margaret Coutts died June 10th 1902 @ Woodmount Cottage Banchory Ternan aged 89yrs David Duncan died Feb 5th 1888 @ Woodmount cottage Banchory Ternan aged 86yrs. Is this " your" family? If her parents are the same David Coutts and Margaret Duncan who lived in the Forest of Birse then I can help out with further information. Hi liz I have seen your posting on the Kincardine list regarding the Coutts family. This is my line as well, decending from John Coutts b. 1806 in Auchabrack. His parents were John Coutts and Margaret Duncan. He married Elizabeth Stewart b. Durris KCD 1815. They had my ggrandmother, Jane in 1850. My grandfather John Harvey was born in Strachan in 1875. Trying to follow the Coutts line is very confusing.
