This is my first query on the John Melvin family, who lived in Nigg, Kincardineshire, then Peterculter, Aberdeenshire. John married Margaret Lumsden and had 11 children...John (my grandfather) b. 1854 in Nigg: William b. 1856, Banchory Devenick: The remaider of the family were born in Peterculter. James b. 1858: Ann b. 1859: Elizabeth b.1861: Martha b. 1863: Mary b. 1865: Jean b. 1867: George Gerrie b. 1869: Robert Lumsden b. 1871: Alexander Kelly b. 1873. John and Margaret Lumsden Melvin are buried in St. Peter's Kirkyard in Peterculter as well as son, John Melvin and wife Ann Jane Drum.
