A long time ago I found a headstone in a very old transcript of the Fettercairn monument inscriptions that is quite different to that in the popular "Pre 1855 Inscriptions..." and the Fettercairn Monument Inscriptions from the 1960's. It appears that the text on the headstone eroded quite badly. The transcript was date 1929 (I think). The transcript that I am looking for has an inscription for John Aikenhead. It gives his wife's name and some important dates. What I would like is the reference to the transcript so that I can find it again and also the full text of John Aikenhead's inscription. In case I have been unclear. I already have the text from the otherwise excellent Pre 1855 Incriptions book. It is the earlier transcript that I am looking for. Regards Steve Nethercote
