Hello, I am a new member and helping my husband trace his roots. Unfortunately, his family did not keep in close contact. We are trying to trace anyone by the name of MUTCH resident in Fetteresso in 1896, probably farm workers. Can anyone help? Many thanks, Anne, West Yorks.
Hi Anne, I was at the University of British Columbia and photocopied the Mutch genealogy published in 1927. It said that all Mutches originated in the Aberdeenshire-Kincardineshire area and tried to note most of them. I sent it to the Aberdeen & North East Scotland FHS a few years ago. Unfortunately I did not keep a copy. I did notice an obituary of a J. Robert Mutch who died in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, on 19 Nov. 1985. Part of the obituary said, "Author of the recently printed Genealogy of the Mutch Family, a continuation of the Genealogy printed in 1927." I don't know if this helps but you could try the Prince Edward Island provincial archives; National Archives of Canada or the Aberdeen & North East Scotland FHS. I'm sorry but I do not have these email addresses at hand. Lance M.
