Hi all I am looking for information on a William Thompson who was I understand a coastguard in the Johnshaven Area, we think his father was called Thomas but dont know where he was born, he was married to Anne Mitchell who I believe came from the Benholm Area or Laurencekirk, they married in St Bees Cumberland and had several children some of whome were born in Whitehaven,one in Alnmouth and the remainder in Johnshaven Thomas born in 18.8.1911and christened in Whitehaven Henry born 2.7.1813and was christened in Whitehaven William born in 1815 and died in 1817 in Whitehaven John born 16.5.1817 and christened in Whitehaven William II born at Alnmouth in 1821 and died at Johnshaven in 1822 Maria born at Johnshaven in 1823 and died in Johnshaven in the same year Robert born 31.7.1825 in Johnshaven and christened at Benholm church Mary Ann Thompson born 2.5.1829 christened at Laurencekirk and registered at Benholm Church The above information was copied from the Thompson family bible which is now in Candada I already know that John, Thomas and Robert moved to North Shields and that Mary Ann married John Clark of Benholm, he was a weaver. I would like to know when the three boys came to North Shields and what happened to the remainder of the family i.e. when William and Anne died. and obviously if anyone else on the list is researching this family, they were linked to the Charlton family of Torry through marriage. Any help would be appreciated as I do not live in the area.
