Hello Betty, funny coincidence, I have an invitation,for my Grandmother Isabella Strachan and Thomas Aitchison 20th July 1900 in the Laurencekirk Masonic Hall, the invitation is to Mr and Mrs Birse, pity it didn't have a Christian name, or address. I have often wondered who they were. Hi Ruth, Thanks so much for your note --- I wonder if it would have been one of my ancestors? My grandfather was Joseph BIRSE, great grandfather was William BIRSE . Great uncles were Alexander , James & William. They would have been the only living male BIRSE relatives in 1900. A BIRSE relative, Euphemia did emigrate to Australia and married an A. DOUGLAS -- that's all the information that I have about her.
