Hello Listers, would anyone have a James Beattie and an Isobel Ritchie in their tree. On my G G Grandmother's death certificate, in 1870 in Benholm it states _Julia Strachan age 59 m/s Beattie, Father James Beattie, mother Isobel Ritchie, both dec. On the 1851 and 1861 census she is listed as having been born in Dun , Forfar. I can find no record of this couple, Julia and her husband David Strachan did not have an Isobel, but did have a James, some of their children also had a James and a James Beattie. If anyone has any ideas on this , I would be delighted to hear from them. Thanks Ruth Edwards

Hi Ruth, Would you happen to have a Duncan L.M. Strachan in your family? He was born circa 1893 and died on May 18, 1915. His siblings that I'm aware of are: - David Strachan - Hugh Strachan - William Reith Strchan - John Strachan - James Strachan - Charles Strachan - Andrew Strachan His parents were David & Elizabeth Reith Stachan from Floors, Muchalls, Kincardineshire.
