Hi I am new to this list and wish to post my interests. I am researching the Thompson family who lived in Johnshaven from about 1822 - ? William Thompson son of Thomas and was a coastguard/customs man and moved around quite a lot, he married Ann Mitchell in St Bees Cumbria in 1810, Ann was from Kincardineshire. They had the following children: Thomas born 18.8.1811 in Whitehaven Cumberland Henry born 2.7.1813 in Whitehaven William born in 1815 in Whitehaven and died there in 1817 John born 16.5.1817 in Whitehaven William II born in Alnmouth in 1821 and died in Johnshaven in 1822 which means the family moved to Johnshaven in 1821/22 Maria Elizabeth born in Johnshaven 15.1.1824 Robert born in Johnshaven20.7.1825 Mary Ann born 2.5.1929 in Johnshaven and Married Thomas Clark We still have the family bible in our family's posession but know very little about this family apart from the fact that three of the boys John Robert and Thomas all moved to North Shields, it is of great interest to us to find out when this happened, and what happened to the remainder of the family. John is my gt gt gt grandfather. I have found a death for a William Perot Thompson on Scotlands people in about 1856, but dont know if this is our William, confirmation of this would be valuable, also a death date for Anne(Mitchell) Thompson, and any connection with her family, I think she may have been born in Laurencekirk. Any asisstance would be greatly appreciated. Marg ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo!
