Hi, I need some help. I have entries from the Scottish 1851 Census, which say that a relative was born at Perthshire, Dunnottar. He would have been born circa 1800. I am Scottish, and please forgive my ignorance, but I have never heard of a Town/Village called Dunnottar. The only Dunnottar I know of is Dunnottar Castle, near Stonehaven, and Glenbervie, which are in Aberdeenshire. Is it possible that the Shire boundaries have been changed since 1800..?? Is/was Dunnottar a Parish in Perthshire. I remember reading that Rabbie Burns' family came from Glenbervie, Kincardineshire, is that true..?? Did Kincardinshire stretch all the way up to near Stonehaven at one time..?? I'm really confused about this one. Any help would be much appreciated. Best regards, Alex Brown
