Is there an MI for William HERD or HIRD in Kincardineshire pre 1800? We begin to suspect that our HERD line came from Kincardineshire... William HERD died in Oathlaw on 22 Mar 1774 age 60y 5d ( MI in Oathlaw Chuchyard) he was 'sometime smith at Fineven 'and married Katherine GALL in 1747. Our question is could he be one of the William HERD's born in Marykirk? There are two candidates ..William chr 8 Mar 1713 son of William and Isabel WILLOCK or WILLOX Or William chr 15 Jun 1715 son of David HERD and Margaret ANDERSON Does any one have either William on their tree to eliminate them from ours?
