I have taken a note of these but there doesn't seem to be a connection - well not so far. My earliest proven Milne is James who married Jean Baird in 1814 but I have no details of siblings or parentage. I also have an interest in Stewart and Nicoll. James Milne married Margaret Grant Stewart or Stuart in Fourdoun in 1843 and their daughter Elizabeth - my great granny married David Nicoll of Brechin in St Cyrus in 1867. Any connections? Thanks again, Agnes

You may not know but is it not far from Montrose and the Library in Montrose has a good department for family history research. If you key in "Montrose Library" which is in Angus you should get some details My husband comes from Montose and we visit the area often last year we went to a caravan park in St Cyrus. It was spotless and the folks were friendly. All the best Irene Cunningham cunningham.1@blueyonder.co.uk

Name is Mary and I was in St. Cyrus about 1 year ago. I am not sure but I only remember one cemetery. Beautiful little place. I was interested in Marykirk and Laurancekirk and the town of Brechin also. Had great luck in finding family in all places. Hope you have a good trip. Mary Jones TX USA

I have just joined this list. I have made a lot of progress in tracing the Sherret folk who married into my maternal Dun/Dunn ancestry. The earliest record I have is John Sherret b. 2nd July 1741 and who married on Isabell Watson on 11th June 1769 in Arbuthnott and who was christened on 7th December 1741. Their first son Hugh Sherret born 30th July 1770 in Glenbervie married Violet Henry on 26th December 1800 and who was born on 31st August 1775. This family farmed at Sillyflat, which today is still a working farm. I hope that I may have some information that is of interest to others and that maybe I can take my lines back even further.
