    3. I'm looking for anyone who may be connectd to the family of John Davidson and Mary Scott, from Kinneff & Kincardine. John was born about 1796 in that parish, and Mary was apparently from Bervie. Thy married in 1825, and had these children: Ann, born 1828 William born 1831 Margaret born 1833 Charlotte born 1836 Andrew born 1839 Helen born 1846 Isabella born in 1850 As far as I have learned, obnly William and Ann migrated to the US. I've been told that one or two may have gone to Australia, but I haven't been able to prove that. I know that Andrew was in London in 1881, and Margaret was in Aberdeen, as was Isabella, all married and had families. I'd like to hear from anyone who knows anytihng, especially about Mary Scott, and will exchange information with all. Thanks. 2. Gordon A Troup
    3. Hello Everyone I'm a newcomer to this list but have been lurking about on the Aberdeen, Angus, Banff and Midlothian lists for some time now. I'd like to introduce my Kincardine ancestry in the hopes that SKS can give me a hand in finding out more about them. In Fordoun, I am searching for information on ELIZABETH LEY b circa 1785 presumably in Fordoun. In 1813 she married WILLIAM HADDAN, blacksmith, with banns being recorded in Brechin and Montrose. The couple moved on to Easter Braikie, Kinnell where they had two children, ELIZABETH dying a week after her second child was born. The OPRs in Kinnell indicate that she was buried in Fordoun. Are the MIs of Fordoun published, and if so, is there any chance there is an MI for ELIZABETH or her (as yet unidentified) parents or relatives? Could someone provide any direction in searching for ELIZABETH's parents? The other individuals I am searching for (this time in St Cyrus) are ALEXANDER PAXTON, his wife, MARGARET LAW, children, ELIZABETH b c 1797 and JANE b 1803. I have OPR transcriptions of ALEXANDER and MARGARET's marriage banns and JANE's baptism record but there is no record of ELIZABETH's baptism. This family moved on to Logie Pert and had several more children 1804-1811. I believe there may be a Communicants List from the late 1700s that might confirm that ELIZABETH is indeed part of this family. Does anybody have access to the Communicants List of which I speak or any other items that might assist me? Any assistance anyone can provide me in learning a little more about these elusive ancestors of mine will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Kind regards Gordon Troup in northern Alberta RESEARCHING WILLIAM HADDAN 1789 (Logie Pert) - 1825 (Kinnell)/(1)ELIZABETH LEY c1790 (Fordoun) - 1815 (Kinnell); (2)ISABEL COUTTS c1792 - 1859 (St Vigeans) ALEXANDER PAXTON ?-?/MARGARET LAW ?-? 1. OFFICER/GLADMOND
    2. Gregor J. Wright
    3. Good evening. A big mystery of my family is my OFFICER lineage. I first found them in Ayr in 1810, but I know the surname OFFICER is largely seen in Kincardine. I'm curious if anyone is researching OFFICER. Specifically, I'm trying to locate this family: John OFFICER married Sarah GLADMOND (also spelled GLANDMAN, GLADMAN). Probably married around 1810. Location unknown. John was a handloom weaver and pensioner. Their daughter, Margaret, was born in St. Quivox, Ayr in 1810. Another daughter, Agnes, born approx. 1811 also in St. Quivox. I cannot find any information on John and Sarah at all in any records and wonder if they maybe weren't part of the Kincardine Officer's. Has anyone come across this family in their research? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Kind regards, Gregor J. Wright

    3. I am trying to find out information about my gg grandfather who was John Ramsay GOUCK, GOUK, GOUGH or GOCHE (depending on which document you read). In some his given name is simply Ramsay. He lived in Arbroath in the mid 1850s and was a sailor. I know that in 1857 his ship was somewhere in America and a family story says that he spent some time in the South African gold mines. My g gandfather was Alexander Webster GOUGH. He was born in Banchory in 1856 and his mother was Margarte FINDLAY. I cannot find any marriage documents though. I know that Alexander stayed in Stonehaven for a while with his grandfather Charles FINDLAY and had a cousin named William GELLATLY. I would appreciate any information on the above families.
