    1. Blacklaws in Fordoun
    2. Alan Moir - MJInternational
    3. Elaine A snippet of information for you. George Blacklaws, Mains of Monboddo, and Robert Blacklaws, Carnbeg were cautioners for John Moir ( my great X 5 grandfather) and Elspet Craw at their proclamation of marriage on 14.4.1755, Fordoun. This is not a great deal of help to you but you could reasonably assume that George and Robert were brothers, cousins, father/son or son/father, which might help you as your research develops. There were quite a lot of Blacklaws around Fordoun at this time. Alan Moir

    1. COOKNEY/FETTERSSO - BROWN FAMILY
    2. Ken Woodgate
    3. Cookney is described in 'Gazetter of Scotland' as a 'church of ease' with 700 seatings. It is in the Parish of Fetteresso. Can anyone advise if Cookney would have it's own Parish Register of Births/Christenings etc - or would they be in Fetteresso. Where might the Parish Registers be held? Searching for family of George BROWN and Margaret GORDON who appear to have moved down from the Braemar area, and later to Banff. A couple of grandchildren born in NZ have the father's (A;lexander Brown) birthplace given as Cookney,Kincardinshire Any help would be appreciated. Ken Woodgate [email protected]

    1. Brymer family history
    2. Ryan S. Brymer
    3. Dear List: My name is Robert Andrew Brymer and my great, great grandparents immigrated from Scotland about 1827 to the USA. My family and I are planning a trip to Scotland next year, and we would like to meet any distant relatives we may have still living. Could you help us or point us in the right direction? As you can see from the summary below, we had family members born in Kincardine. We'd like to trace them forward to the present day. Any advice or guidance you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Bob June 25, 1771, William Brymer (maybe spelled Bremner) married Mary Hay in Lawrencekirk, County of Kincardine, Scotland. According to the records found, they had 5 children: Francis (October 9, 1771); John (August 6, 1774); Alexander (May 6, 1781); Anne (June 20, 1783); Anne (June 14, 1784) --The second child, John, is was baptized on Aug. 6,1774, and born at "Burnside of Johnstown", Lawrencekirk Parish. 1814 or 1815 (estimated), John Brymer married Maria Jenkins in Oldmaines Fasque in Fettercairn Parish, Scotland. We believed they immigrated to to the U.S. on June 30, 1827. John was a carpenter and died on Nov. 26, 1838, in New York City. Maria was born in Scotland in 1788, and died in NYC on Feb. 2, 1871. They had 3 children: William (Aug. 22, 1816); John (1821); and Fanny Brymer (no additional information on her) --Their first child, William was born on Aug. 22, 1816 and baptized on Sept. 5, 1816, in Fettercairn Parish, Scotland. William was naturalized in the U. S. on Oct. 27, 1840, in Essex County, New Jersey.April 28, 1845, William Brymer married Agnes White. They had three children, and he is our Grandfather that we have the Civil War Diary from. They had 3 children: Eliza (1847); Lewis Park Valentine (1849); and Andrew (April 3, 1851). November 23, 1876, Andrew Brymer married Harriet Pope in NYC. Their 7 children were: Howard (Doug's Grandpa); Bobby (who I was named after); John (who lived in St. Pete); Andrew (your Grandpa); George; Bubbles; and Katherine (who died two months ago)

    1. 1841 Census
    2. Janet Connochie
    3. Hello everyone, You may remember a couple of months ago, I mentioned something about having the 1841 census for a while, and had ambitions of indexes etc.. I have already posted the Garvock index, but I have been busier. I worked in 3 stages, 1. Index & Transcribe Garvock (done!) 2. Index Laurencekirk (done for Enum 1 & 2) 3. Transcribe entries for a handful of surnames (done!). In total there are 1531 entries either transcribed or indexed, with ~300 different surnames. If you go to my website (note url may be on two lines) http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~connochie/kcd/1841kcdi ntro.html You should be able to navigate about. There are four indexes, one for each of the 3 stages above, and a Surname index, which tells you how many entries there are for each stage. Anyway, have fun, and please tell me any comments, hints, criticisms etc.. -Janet Connochie Christchurch, NZ PS.. I know there were several people who were after a lookup in Marykirk, unfortunately Marykirk was not on the film I had. PPS. If you look further afield on my site, you will most probaly come across broken links and dead ends.. just a warning :)
