Spoofing is not the same as a virus bot. It is apparently something we are all capable of doing i.e. Changing the identity of the sender. As far as I know, no anti virus software or firewall protects any of us from having someone commandeer our e-mail address to make it look like we are spamming people. Its happened to me twice, not with the same address. Where I can I have my posts moderated, and dont object to it if the List or group owner decides to moderate my posts because it makes sure that my addresses dont send spam. Another point is to use different mail addresses for each List subscription so that one knows where the spoofer got it from. Apologies from me too - my laptop is with my techies. I was able to reinstate it again, but with no contacts, or any of my saved emails. I searched the internet on what to do, and this was the only thing I could find. I started another email with this provider I use now. I got some ugly replies from folk, but I must have got the virus from one of them in the first place, as it was something attached to email addresses. I hope this helps. I did receive some from you too, but I understand. I am trying to deal with it, and not sure how it happened as I am running McAfee and whatever caused this got in under the radar and is not being picked up by McAfee. I have received similar looking email "from" 3 other people this week. If anyone has any constructive comments as to how to resolve the issue, please contact me directly. Jennie - just hope that some day this does not happen to you.
