âHi John, I'm not sure if this will help, but I've just been through this myself. My family was McInnes, they lived in 'Iona Parish' in 1841 before coming to Lochaber, Quebec. Turns out that area took in the Ross of Mull area -most of the people who came to Quebec were actually residents on Mull itself, not so much the island. She was born c 1788, I believe on Iona. Her marriage to Angus Cameron on March 25, 1811 is shown in the Kilfinichen Parish records, which lists them both as residents of Iona. The birth/baptism of their first four children, including my gg grandfather John Cameron, are also in the OPR. Then in about 1820 they left for Quebec, Canada, where the next four children were born.
